Football Game Preview: Central Lions vs. Starr's Mill Panthers + How To Watch

The Central Lions will square off against the Starr's Mill Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Central is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

Central proved they can win big last Friday (they won by 56) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 24-21 win over Jonesboro. Those 24 points were actually the fewest the Lions have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Central's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was JR Harris, who threw for 173 yards and two touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes, and also rushed for 79 yards on only ten carries. The Lions also relied on Harris, who's 48-yard boot wound up being the difference in the game. Another back making a difference was Jacez Walton, who gained 79 total yards and two touchdowns.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Starr's Mill). They strolled past Mundy's Mill with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 38-19. The win continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won four in a row.

Central's victory bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Starr's Mill, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-5.

Central couldn't quite finish off Starr's Mill in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 and fell 38-35. Thankfully for the Lions, Logan Inagawa (who rushed for 129 yards and three scores while picking up 7.6 yards per carry, and also threw for 150 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 80% of his passes) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
