Softball Recap: Garinger Wildcats vs. Charlotte Catholic Cougars

Garinger had lost eight straight on the road, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 3-14 to make it nine. They lost 17-0 to the Charlotte Catholic Cougars. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, with their most recent defeat being a 16-0 loss on April 8th.

As for Charlotte Catholic, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 14-5. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

For Charlotte Catholic's part, Jillian Gennant was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Gennant has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.
