The scorekeeper got an easy start on Wednesday as neither Limestone nor Metamora made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Rockets never let the Redbirds get on the board and left with a 3-0 victory. This was a revenge game for the Rockets: when they faced off against the Redbirds on Monday, they had to take a 6-3 loss.

The result came thanks to Alec Williams's shutout, as he gave up just four hits and racked up nine Ks.

On the hitting side, Limestone's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Dylan Bitner, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

The victory made it two in a row for Limestone and bumps their season record up to 16-12. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 5 runs in those games. As for Metamora, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 9-14 record.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Limestone will venture away from home to challenge Pekin at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Metamora, they will head out to square off against Streator at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
