Preview: Platte Valley Broncos vs. Brush Beetdiggers
The Platte Valley Broncos will head out on the road to challenge the Brush Beetdiggers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Platte Valley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Saturday.
Platte Valley suffered their closest loss since January 11th on Saturday. They fell just short of Fort Lupton by a score of 63-60. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Despite the loss, Platte Valley got a solid performance out of Braylon Edstrom, who scored 25 points along with two steals. That was a full 41.7% of Platte Valley's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Regan Edstrom, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Brush suffered a rough 66-45 loss at the hands of Liberty Common on Friday.
Platte Valley has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season. As for Brush, their loss dropped their record down to 4-14.
Platte Valley came out on top in a nail-biter against Brush in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, sneaking past 50-48. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Brush's Robert Gonzalez, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds.
