Basketball Recap: Abby Wendte Key Part of a Team Effort in Storm Win

Notre Dame de Sion won the last time they faced Grandview and things went their way on Friday too. The Notre Dame de Sion Storm walked away with a 60-47 victory over the Grandview Bulldogs. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Storm.

Notre Dame de Sion's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Abby Wendte, who went 6 for 11 en route to 17 points and four steals. Wendte is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Taelyn Smith was another key player, dropping a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds.

Notre Dame de Sion was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Grandview only racked up seven assists.

When it comes to explaining why Grandview lost, don't look at Taniya Cruthird. Despite the final result, she posted 16 points. Another player making a difference was Lecia Martin, who earned six points and five boards.

Notre Dame de Sion now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Grandview, their loss dropped their record down to 7-5.

Notre Dame de Sion will be taking part in a tournament against Truman at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Notre Dame de Sion is facing Truman at the right time seeing as Truman is stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Grandview, they will head out to square off against St. Teresa's Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Teresa's Academy will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Grandview surely won't give up without a fight.
