Baseball Recap: Heritage Wins Going Away Against Space Coast

While Heritage put up plenty of runs on Wednesday, the same can't be said for Space Coast. The Panthers put the hurt on the Vipers with a sharp 12-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Vipers: they've now won six in a row.

Space Coast's batters probably weren't too happy with Patrick Johnson, who pitched a no hitter (he gave up three walks). Johnson has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Kethziel Torres was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. He is becoming a predictor of Heritage's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 7-10 when he doesn't). Andrew Francisco was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Torres wasn't the only one making solid contact: Heritage kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in three consecutive contests.

Heritage's record is now 14-10. As for Space Coast, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season.
