Baseball Game Preview: Harrison Raiders vs. University Trailblazers

The Harrison Raiders will take on the University Trailblazers at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Harrison's pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so University's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

On Saturday, Harrison came up short against Crown Point and fell 7-3. The matchup marked the Raiders' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Blake Scales was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off seven hits. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in May of 2024.

On the hitting side, Harrison saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nolan Hodnett, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, University fell victim to Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They fell just short of the Saints by a score of 1-0. The Trailblazers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Caleb Stocker was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over six innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

University's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Harrison, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.
