Football Game Preview: Killingly Trailbazers vs. New London Whalers + How To Watch

The Killingly Trailbazers will challenge the New London Whalers at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Killingly knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 31 points or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully New London likes a good challenge.

Killingly is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing Law: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Trailbazers blew the Lawmen out of the water with a 49-21 final score. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Trailbazers had established a 21-point advantage.

Killingly got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Hayden Allard out in front who rushed for 292 yards and four TDs while picking up 12.2 yards per carry. That's the most rushing yards Allard has posted since back in September of 2024. Joseph Mackie was another key rusher, gaining 167 total yards and two touchdowns.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Killingly was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 459 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Law only rushed for 70.

Meanwhile, New London suffered their closest loss since October 11, 2024 on Friday. They fell just short of Stonington by a score of 16-14.

New London now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Killingly, their record now sits at 3-0.

Everything went Killingly's way against New London in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, as Killingly made off with a 41-20 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Trailbazers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
