Basketball Recap: Sumner Takes a Loss

Sumner was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 52-45 to the Plant Panthers. The match marked the Stingrays' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Despite the defeat, Sumner saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Anthony Bailey posted 14 points. Devin Baker was another key player, putting up ten points.

Sumner's loss dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Plant, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-3.

Sumner wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 71-52 win against Bloomingdale on the 10th. Plant has also already played their next match, a 56-41 victory against Steinbrenner on the 10th.
