Basketball Game Preview: Maud Tigers vs. Stonewall Longhorns

The Maud Tigers will head out to take on the Stonewall Longhorns at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Maud has now lost eight straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 9.

Maud is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 57 points on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Stringtown on Thursday. They took a blow against the Tigers, falling 57-9. While losing is never fun, Maud can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 388th, while Stringtown is ranked 92nd).

Meanwhile, everything went Stonewall's way against Strother on Saturday as Stonewall made off with a 50-26 victory. The Longhorns have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matches by 20 points or more this season.

Stonewall is also on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. As for Maud, their loss dropped their record down to 3-10.

Maud came up short against Stonewall when the teams last played back in February of 2020, falling 51-39. Can Maud avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
