Football Recap: Grantsville Find Success

Grantsville's game on Friday was all tied up 6-6 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. In a tight game that could have gone either way, they made off with a 13-12 win over the Hurricane Tigers.

Grantsville's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Rigdon Murdock led the charge by rushing for 103 yards on only 12 carries. Those 103 rushing yards gave Murdock a new career-high.

Grantsville's defense stepped up as well, laying out Dylyn Gabriel. three times. The team can thank two different players for their defensive prowess: Aiden Brown and Porter Davis, who each picked up one sack apiece.

Although Hurricane took the loss, they still got scores from Brody Jacobs and Gabriel.

The victory got Grantsville back to even at 2-2. As for Hurricane, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Looking ahead, Grantsville will take on Juab at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cowboys will be up against the Wasps' rather soft defense (which has allowed 26.5 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Hurricane, they will square off against Crimson Cliffs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Mustangs will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Tigers surely won't give up without a fight.
