Softball Preview: Austin Mustangs vs. Sharpstown Apollos
Austin is 8-0 against Sharpstown since February of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Sharpstown's offense. They wound up on the wrong side of a tough 16-0 walloping at the hands of Milby on Friday. Sharpstown has struggled against Milby recently, as their contest on Friday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
The victory got Austin back to even at 2-2. As for Sharpstown, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.
Austin took their win against Sharpstown in their previous matchup back in April of 2021 by a conclusive 19-4. The rematch might be a little tougher for Austin since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
