Preview: Wyatt Chaparrals vs. North Side Steers
Wyatt is 9-1 against North Side since January of 2020, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Wyatt Chaparrals will head out on the road to face off against the North Side Steers at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Wyatt focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Friday.
Wyatt put the finishing touches on their ninth blowout victory of the season. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Southwest 74-25 on the road. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Wyatt has posted yet this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Wyatt to victory, but perhaps none more so than Zyniesha Horner, who scored 24 points along with eight steals and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Tianna Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, North Side was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 35-30 to Trimble Tech.
Wyatt has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-10 record this season. As for North Side, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost 12 of their last 15 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-15 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Wyatt against North Side in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 as the team secured a 60-16 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Wyatt since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
