Basketball Recap: Cedartown Comes Up Short

After flying high against Woodland last Tuesday, Cedartown came back down to earth. The Cedartown Bulldogs were outmatched by the Hiram Hornets and fell 56-26. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 57-51 back in December of 2024.

Hiram's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Taylor Crawford, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten assists. The dominant performance gave Crawford a new career-high in assists. Another player making a difference was Damariah Windmon, who went 6 of 9 en route to 16 points.

Cedartown dropped their record down to 8-15 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Hiram, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 10-12 record this season.

Cedartown didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 54-32 victory against Southeast Whitfield County on the 31st. Hiram has also already played their next contest, a 67-35 loss against Dalton on the 31st.
