Volleyball Recap: Coventry Falls Short Against Ranked Classical

Coventry faced Classical in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Oakers fell just short of the Purple by a score of 3-2. The loss continues a trend for the Oakers in their meetings with the Purple: they've now lost four in a row.

Coventry took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 22-25, 21-25, 25-19, 15-6.

Coventry's defeat dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Classical, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 14-4.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Coventry is set to challenge their familiar foe North Smithfield at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Classical will face off against rival Cranston East at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
