High school football: How many teams finished unbeaten in 2025?

New York featured the most undefeated teams with 11 while four states didn't have any.

Nearly 14,000 high school football programs competed during the 2025 season but only about 1 percent finished with a zero in the loss column. 

With state championship games in Texas being played over the weekend, the season is officially in the books and 143 teams emerged as authors of a perfect season.

Including a minimum of nine games played, New York had the most undefeated teams with 11. MaxPreps National Champion Buford (Ga.) led 23 unbeaten schools within the final top 100.

Delaware, Hawaii, Vermont and Virginia were the only states without an unbeaten team. Ten states only had one team without a loss.
