Football Game Preview: Lake Dallas Falcons vs. Community Braves

The Lake Dallas Falcons will square off against the Community Braves at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Lake Dallas is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Paris just ended the team's three-game winning streak dating back to last season on Friday. They took a 20-16 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wildcats.

Most of the squad's points came courtesy of special teams, who contributed ten in total. All came from Cooper Denehie: he went 3-for-3 kicking field goals for nine points and added another on an extra point kick.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Community). They blew past Western Hills 45-7 last Friday.

Community's win came from a few key players Lake Dallas will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Grayson Calloway, who threw for 441 yards and five touchdowns while completing 83.9% of his passes. Cash Elston was Calloway's top target, picking up 225 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.

Community didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Carson Bessa. Community got some further help from Abbott Grayson: he made 12 total tackles (2.0 for loss).

Lake Dallas' loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Community, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Everything came up roses for Lake Dallas against Community in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 56-20 win. Do the Falcons have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Braves turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
