Football Recap: Heritage Hills Falls Despite Big Games from Peyton Gray and Tyler Ruxer

If Heritage Hills was feeling good fresh off their 49-7 takedown of Washington last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Patriots fell 38-34 to the Gibson Southern Titans on Friday. The game marked the Patriots' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Heritage Hills' defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Tyler Ruxer, who picked up 134 receiving yards and one score, and Peyton Gray, who picked up 85 receiving yards and one touchdown. Gray didn't just play on offense: he also made three total tackles and defended one pass.

Heritage Hills didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Ruxer and Tyce Winchell.

It was another big night for Zach Foster, who rushed for 171 yards and a pair of TDs, and also threw for 143 yards and one touchdown for Gibson Southern. Those 171 rushing yards gave Foster a new career-high.

Having lost for the first time this season, Heritage Hills fell to 5-1. As for Gibson Southern, they pushed their record up to 5-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home.
