Baseball Recap: Eight Straight Home Victories for Royal

There's no place like home for Royal, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They never let the San Marino Titans get on the board and left with a 3-0 victory on Tuesday. The Highlanders were shut out 5-0 the last time they took on the Titans, so the Highlanders were just returning the favor.

Royal's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Caden Sramek, who fired off two home runs while going 2-for-3. Those two home runs gave Sramek a new career-high.

Sramek wasn't the only one working in the home run department: Royal lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Royal pushed their record up to 13-2 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.9 runs on average over those games. As for San Marino, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 12-4 record.

Royal and San Marino should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. The Highlanders (ranked 89th) will meet Highland (ranked 356th) at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, San Marino will face off against Temple City at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank advantage (110 vs. 733).
