Volleyball Game Preview: Holly Wildcats vs. McClave Cardinals

Holly hasn't had much luck against McClave recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Wildcats will square off against the Cardinals at 5:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.

Having struggled with five defeats in a row, Holly turned things around against Kim/Branson on Wednesday. They blew past the Mustangs 3-0.

While Holly won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-11, 26-24.

Meanwhile, McClave made easy work of Walsh on Thursday and carried off a 3-0 victory. The Cardinals haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: McClave took every set by at least 13 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-8, 25-12, 25-7.

Holly's victory bumped their record up to 8-13. As for McClave, their win bumped their record up to 17-2.

Holly suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to McClave when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Can the Wildcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
