Volleyball Recap: South Bend Riley Wildcats vs. Chesterton Trojans
South Bend Riley lost against Chesterton back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Wildcats took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Trojans.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-19.
Despite the loss, South Bend Riley saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Tanner Witz had ten digs and one assist.
Among those leading the charge was Jack Rodriguez, who had nine digs and three aces. That's the most aces he has posted over his last eight matchups. Robert Williams also deserves some recognition as he had his first dig of the season.
South Bend Riley's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Chesterton, they pushed their record up to 11-1 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season.
South Bend Riley has already played their next contest, a 2-1 loss against Hobart on the 12th. As for Chesterton, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Portage on the 12th.
