Preview: Louisburg Warriors vs. South Granville Vikings
Louisburg is on a five-game streak of home wins, while South Granville is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Louisburg Warriors will take on the South Granville Vikings at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Louisburg posted their closest win yet this season on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Durham School of the Arts 45-42.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Louisburg to victory, but perhaps none more so than Josh Smith, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Ronald Kearney, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, South Granville scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 96-71 margin over Carrboro. South Granville has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 20 points or more this season.
Brendan Chamberlain continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 22 points along with five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Oliver Roberts, who scored 19 points.
Louisburg's win bumped their record up to 9-4. As for South Granville, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season.
Louisburg took a serious blow against South Granville in their previous matchup back in November of 2022, falling 76-41. The game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Louisburg was down 41-16.
