Basketball Recap: Vivienne Greywoode Key Part of a Team Effort in Lions Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Concord Academy, Hickory Grove Christian was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They snuck past the Gaston Day Spartans with a 29-25 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 52-22 back in December of 2024.

Hickory Grove Christian's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Vivienne Greywoode, who posted eight points and seven steals. Greywoode has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Addi Laisy also deserves some recognition as she scored her first points of the season.

The victory got Hickory Grove Christian back to even at 8-8. As for Gaston Day, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-13.

Hickory Grove Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 49-31 defeat against Liberty Preparatory Christian Academy on the 20th. As for Gaston Day, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, an 87-19 loss against Concord Academy on the 21st.
