Volleyball Recap: Whitfield Warriors vs. Westminster Christian Wildcats
Whitfield came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Westminster Christian Wildcats, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 two weeks ago.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-6, 25-10, 25-7.
Whitfield's offense was headlined by Sophia Beuc and Kayla Scales, who picked up two kills apiece. They got some help from Layla Gammage and her five assists.
Rachel Buchanan was the offensive standout of the contest as she had eight digs and three aces. That's the most aces she has posted since back in August.
Whitfield has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-15 record this season. As for Westminster Christian, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 15 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-6-1 record this season.
