Basketball Recap: Richmond City School of the Arts Takes a Loss

Richmond City School of the Arts was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 27th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were dealt a 112-0 loss at the hands of the Manchester Lancers. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 334th, while the Lancers are ranked 17th).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Manchester to victory, but perhaps none more so than Rayne Wright, who went 11 of 14 en route to 23 points along with five assists and five steals. The contest was Wright's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Finley Weaver, who made all 10 shots she took for 22 points and five steals.

Richmond City School of the Arts' defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Manchester, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 10-2.

Richmond City School of the Arts has already played their next game (against Huguenot), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Manchester wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, an 81-25 victory against James River Midlothian on the 23rd.
