Preview: Jones Eagles vs. Agricultural Science Cyclones
The Jones Eagles will be playing at home against the Agricultural Science Cyclones at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Jones will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive.
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for Jones, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They fell just short of the Lions by a score of 54-51. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat Jones has suffered since January 10th.
Meanwhile, after a string of seven wins, Agricultural Science's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They were outmatched by Phillips on the road and fell 88-51. While losing is never fun, Agricultural Science can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 297th, while the Wildcats are ranked 92nd).
Jones' defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-12. As for Agricultural Science, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-9.
Jones took a serious blow against the Cyclones in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, falling 47-18. Can Jones avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
