Softball Recap: Defiance Has No Trouble Against Lima Senior

Defiance came out on top against Lima Senior on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run fifth inning. The Bulldogs blew past the Spartans 11-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bulldogs.

Addison Miller was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two doubles.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Amira Jallad, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Addison Roth, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs.

Defiance pushed their record up to 17-10 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Lima Senior, they moved to 8-7 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

As of now, neither Defiance nor the Spartans have any future games scheduled.
