Baseball Game Preview: Westminster Wolves vs. Horizon Hawks

The Westminster Wolves will head out to face off against the Horizon Hawks at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Westminster has given up an average of 7.6 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Westminster lost 12-2 to Riverdale Ridge on Thursday. That's two games in a row now that the Wolves have lost by exactly ten runs.

Meanwhile, Horizon had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Coyotes 6-4.

The team relied heavily on Chayce Hansen, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Cooper Brennan, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Westminster has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season. As for Horizon, their win bumped their record up to 10-8.

Monday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Westminster hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .337. However, it's not like Horizon struggles in that department as they've averaged .335. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
