Softball Game Preview: Fair Grove Eagles vs. Strafford Indians

The Fair Grove Eagles will challenge the Strafford Indians at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Fair Grove is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Missouri's top teams: Mt. Vernon, who was ranked third at the time (Fair Grove was ranked eighth). The Eagles lost 9-3 to the Mountaineers on Friday. The defeat continues a trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Mountaineers: they've now lost nine in a row.

Fair Grove saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brylee Mallard, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Strafford came up short against Diamond on Monday, falling 13-3.

Fair Grove's loss dropped their record down to 12-4. As for Strafford, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-11.

Fair Grove got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in March against Strafford by a conclusive 10-0 score. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Indians have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
