Scottsdale Christian Academy (Phoenix, Ariz.) locked down a 28-7 victory over
Valley Christian (Chandler, Ariz.) on Saturday to put the team's record back to .500.
After taking the lead on a passing touchdown in the second quarter, the Eagles were up 14-7 at the half.
Scottsdale Christian Academy grew its lead to 14 points entering the fourth quarter. SCA's lone score in the quarter came on a touchdown run.
Valley Christian's only touchdown came on a 17-yard pass from
Brandon Haagsma to
TJ Widner in the first quarter.
The Phoenix school has struggled this season, allowing 36.2 points per game. However, Scottsdale Christian Academy's defense dug in and limited the Trojans well below their season average of 38.3 points per game.
Last season's game between the teams resulted in a 41-25 win for Scottsdale Christian Academy.
The loss comes after Valley Christian defeated Paradise Honors 73-0 last week.
