Baseball Recap: Esperanza Takes a Loss

Esperanza was the 9-7 winner over Sunny Hills when they last played one another back in March, but their luck changed this time around. The Aztecs fell 6-3 to the Lancers on Wednesday.

Esperanza saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was David Salholm, who went 1-for-2 with two runs. Salholm has become a key player for the Aztecs: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 7-14 otherwise. Jacob Santos also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Esperanza's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 9-15. As for Sunny Hills, their record now sits at 5-19.

While Esperanza had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:15 p.m. on Friday.
