Basketball Recap: Macon-East Montgomery Academy Knights vs. Morgan Academy Senators
Macon-East Montgomery Academy kicked off their season on the road on Monday and hit a couple of potholes. They took a 44-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Morgan Academy Senators. The Knights just can't catch a break and have now endured four losses in a row dating back to last season.
Despite the defeat, Macon-East Montgomery Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Omarion Wilson went 7 for 14 en route to 18 points plus six rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Nowden, who had seven points along with five rebounds.
The victory made it two in a row for Morgan Academy and bumps their season record up to 2-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Macon-East Montgomery Academy won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Evangel Christian Academy at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday. As for Morgan Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Hooper Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
