Volleyball Recap: Griffith Triumphs

While Griffith's win against East Chicago Central wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Panthers narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Cardinals 2-1. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Cardinals recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Griffith found their leader in sophomore Elena Rivas, who had 16 digs and four aces. Those 16 digs set a new season-high mark for Rivas. The team also got some help courtesy of Sydney Jancosek, who had 19 digs.

Griffith was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 15 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in October of 2024.

The victory got Griffith back to even at 2-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Griffith will square off against Merrillville at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for East Chicago Central, they will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Lake Station Edison at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
