Football Game Preview: North Sanpete Hawks vs. Beaver Beavers

The North Sanpete Hawks will square off against the Beaver Beavers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

North Sanpete is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Manti on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Hawks lost 35-14 to the Templars. The Hawks have struggled against the Templars recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

North Sanpete didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Isaiah Lebaron and Evan Burningham.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Beaver). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Parowan 55-14. The Beavers haven't had any issues with the Rams recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

North Sanpete better keep an eye on Davin Orton. He was instrumental in Beaver's win, rushing for 38 yards and one TD, while also throwing for 56 yards and one touchdown. The dominant performance also gave Orton a new career-high in passer rating (156.3).

Beaver was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 262 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 165 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

North Sanpete's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Beaver, their win bumped their record up to 6-2.
