Basketball Recap: Leon's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Leon waltzed into their match on Tuesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They snuck past the Lincoln Trojans with a 59-54 win. This was a revenge game for the Lions: when they faced off against the Trojans back in December of 2024, they had to take a 70-68 loss.

Leon got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was DeKendrick Williams out in front who went 7 for 14 on his way to 20 points. Williams is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Tristen Thompson, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds.

Despite the loss, Lincoln still got an impressive performance from Kingsley Mutanga, who posted 20 points and five steals. That's the most steals Mutanga has posted since back in January of 2024. Eric Turral was another key player, putting up 16 points and six rebounds.

Leon is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. As for Lincoln, their defeat ended a ten-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 10-6.

Leon didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 72-51 win against Maclay on the 8th. As for Lincoln, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 71-45 victory against Chiles on the 9th.
