Volleyball Game Preview: Millard North Mustangs vs. Millard South Patriots

A classic North v. South matchup is on the schedule. The Millard North Mustangs will head out on the road to face off against the Millard South Patriots at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Tuesday, Millard North beat Papillion-LaVista 3-1. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Monarchs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Millard North had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 15-25, 25-18, 25-19, 25-18.

Millard North found their leader in sophomore Ava Whitmarsh, who had 16 digs and five assists.

Millard South not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since September 23rd (when they won 3-0). They blew past Omaha Central 3-0.

One reason for the win was Millard South's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-11, 25-9.

The win got Millard North back to even at 11-11. As for Millard South, their victory bumped their record up to 22-5.

Everything went Millard North's way against Millard South when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as Millard North made off with a 3-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
