Basketball Recap: Four Straight Road Wins for Lakeside

Lakeside won the last time they faced Greenbrier and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Lakeside Panthers came out on top against the Greenbrier Wolfpack by a score of 51-42. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Panthers' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 236th, while the Wolfpack are ranked 108th).

Greenbrier's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Martez Ford, who went 6 of 14 on his way to 15 points. Ford's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Nate Garstang was another key player, putting up nine points and five rebounds.

Lakeside's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-9. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.8 points per game. As for Greenbrier, the loss was their first at home , dropping their record down to 11-6.

Coincidentally, Lakeside and Greenbrier will both be playing Effingham County the next time they take the court. Greenbrier will head out to face Effingham County at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while Lakeside will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
