Laurel was the 14-0 winner over DuVal when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Spartans lost 16-2 to the Tigers on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Spartans have suffered against the Tigers since May 10, 2018.

This is the second loss in a row for Laurel and nudges their season record down to 2-5. As for DuVal, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 3-4 record this season.
