Baseball Game Preview: Fairfax Stampede vs. Metro Tech Knights

For the second straight game, Fairfax will face off against Metro Tech. Fairfax will head out on the road to take on Metro Tech at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. Fairfax is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.5 runs per game this season.

Fairfax got their first taste of in-conference action on Tuesday and they started things off strong. They came out on top against Metro Tech by a score of 9-6. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Stampede.

Isaiah Balderas was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off eight hits. He also tossed two walks, which is notable because Fairfax is 2-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 2-5 otherwise. Balderas was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Daniel Alaniz was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Anthony 'AJ' Agnew was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 3-for-3.

Fairfax was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .536. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .375 or higher in four consecutive games.

Metro Tech's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Fairfax, their record is now 4-6.
