Softball Game Preview: Brighton Bengals vs. Skyline Eagles

The Brighton Bengals will head out on the road to face off against the Skyline Eagles at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Brighton has now lost 13 straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since March 17.

Brighton lost 17-3 to Alta on Tuesday.

Cynthia Knowlton made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.

Viewmont hit Skyline with a six-run second inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Eagles came up short against the Vikings, falling 15-1. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Vikings recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Maya Jacobsen was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run.

Brighton's loss dropped their record down to 2-20. As for Skyline, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-19.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Brighton has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Skyline struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Brighton was able to grind out a solid win over Skyline in their previous meeting back in March, winning 10-7. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bengals since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
