Softball Recap: Alameda Picks Up Third Straight Win on the Road

Alameda had won three straight on the road, but on Wednesday they bumped their record up to 11-7-1 to make it four. They never let the Arroyo Dons get on the board and left with a 3-0 victory. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 28, 2023, but that streak is no more.

Not much got past Julia Lambert, who gave up just a hit and racked up 11 Ks to keep Arroyo off the board. Lambert has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Desiree Shoblo was excellent, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March.

As for Arroyo, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-7 record this season. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 28, 2023, but that streak is no more.

On Arroyo's side, Sadie Fernandez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on ten hits and racked up ten Ks.

Coming up, Alameda will venture away from home to face off against California at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Arroyo, they will welcome San Lorenzo at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Grizzlies have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 16.31 runs per game on average), something the Dons will no doubt try to take advantage of.
