Morrill is 9-1 against Crawford since January of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. Both will face off at 12:00 p.m. without much rest having both just played. Morrill will be strutting in after a victory while Crawford will be coming in after a defeat.

It was a proper cat-fight when Morrill faced off against Niobrara County on Friday. Morrill came out on top against Niobrara County by a score of 49-38. The win was all the more spectacular given the Lions' disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 139th in Nebraska, while the Tigers are ranked 13th in Wyoming).

Brooklyn Brown had a dynamite game for Morrill, going 6 of 11 en route to 21 points along with six rebounds and six steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Allison Ott, who posted nine points and seven rebounds.

Morrill smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in five consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, Crawford opened the new year with a less-than-successful 50-37 loss to Niobrara County.

Morrill's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Crawford, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season.

Morrill was able to grind out a solid win over Crawford in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, winning 61-53. Does Morrill have another victory up their sleeve, or will Crawford turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
