League recap: Kaiser extends winning streak with victory over Ayala

Kaiser extended the longest winning streak in Sunkist this week by beating Ayala, 14-7. The win marks fifth in a row for the the Cats.

Kaiser moved up to 109 from 185 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. Phil Zelaya's team was able to make the jump by beating the Bulldogs 14-7.

Summit's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Jakob Jordan threw for 153 and four touchdowns and Erik Brown had 86 yards receiving. On the ground Jordan chipped in 47 yards. Junior Davis helped Summit's passing attack out by catching one ball for 35 yards.

Summit's offense has been unstoppable this season and the SkyHawks feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Jordan has thrown for 576 yards and six touchdowns this season, while Brown has 14 catches for 222 yards. Tarik Myles leads the league in rushing with 237 yards.

The top two teams in Sunkist will face off this week when first place Kaiser takes on second place Summit. Last week, the Cats defeated Ayala, while the SkyHawks beat Granite Hills.

The SkyHawks took down the Cougars 74-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Jordan in the win.
