Basketball Game Preview: Springville Red Devils vs. Bountiful Redhawks

The Springville Red Devils will challenge the Bountiful Redhawks at 5:15 p.m. on Friday.

Springville is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Utah's top teams: Wasatch, who was ranked 20th at the time (Springville was ranked 21st). The Red Devils fell 48-35 to the Wasps on Tuesday. The Red Devils haven't had much luck with the Wasps recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Meanwhile, Bountiful entered their tilt with Skyline on Tuesday with 14 consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with 15. They blew past the Eagles 73-31. The Redhawks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Springville better keep an eye on Milika Satuala. She was instrumental in Bountiful's win, shooting 53% from the field to rack up 23 points along with six boards and three steals. The contest was Satuala's 11th in a row with at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Maleah Nelson, who went 6-for-14 on her way to 16 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals.

Springville's loss dropped their record down to 11-6. As for Bountiful, their win bumped their record up to 17-1.

Things could have been worse for Springville, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 46-29 loss to Bountiful when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Can the Red Devils avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
