Softball Recap: Vandegrift Comes Up Short

Vandegrift scored the most runs they've had this season on Tuesday, but it wasn't enough. They came up short against the McNeil Mavericks, falling 21-15. The Vipers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mavericks apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

This is the second loss in a row for Vandegrift and nudges their season record down to 3-2. As for McNeil, their win ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-2.

Coming up, Vandegrift will head out to face off against Round Rock Westwood at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for McNeil, they will take on Vista Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. McNeil is facing Vista Ridge at the right time seeing as Vista Ridge is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
