Basketball Recap: Carter Comes Up Short

Carter lost against Northview Academy back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Carter Green Hornets took a blow against the Northview Academy Cougars, falling 69-29. While losing is never fun, the Green Hornets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 252nd, while the Cougars are ranked eighth).

When it comes to explaining why Carter lost, don't look at Marah Yeo. Despite the final result, she posted 11 points in addition to six rebounds and six steals. That's the most steals Yeo has posted since back in December of 2023. Madi Ogle also deserves some recognition as she grabbed her first steal of the season.

Carter's loss dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Northview Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-2 record this season.

Carter has already played their next game, a 66-56 victory against Maryville Christian on the 18th. Northview Academy has also already played their next contest (against Sevier County), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
