Softball Recap: Unity Comes Up Short

Unity was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Shell Lake Lakers, falling 22-3. If the Eagles were looking for revenge after losing 15-3 to the Lakers when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Megan Peterson was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Evelyn Fugate, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and two RBI.

Unity's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Shell Lake, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Unity will face off against Grantsburg at 5:00 p.m. on the 24th. As for Shell Lake, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Altoona at 5:00 p.m. on the 25th.
