It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Devils Lake had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Des Lacs-Burlington Lakers with a sharp 73-49 win. The Firebirds have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 15 matches by 23 points or more this season.

The victory (which was Devils Lake's fifth in a row) raised their record to 24-1. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.8 points over those games. As for Des Lacs-Burlington, they moved to 15-11 with that defeat, which also ended their ten-game winning streak.

Coming up, Devils Lake and Shiloh Christian will face off at 6:30 p.m. on Friday without much rest, having both just played. One thing working in Shiloh Christian's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 16 games. Des Lacs-Burlington does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
