            Basketball Recap: Spiro Bulldogs vs. Talihina Golden Tigers        
        
		
        
        
            Spiro was the  65-53 winner over Talihina when they last played one another  back in January of 2019, but their luck changed this time around. The Spiro Bulldogs took  a  50-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Talihina Golden Tigers. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage  in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings  (they are ranked 345th, while the Golden Tigers are ranked 160th).
 Talihina's win  on Wednesday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from   Cy Ammons, who  posted 12 points. The dominant performance also gave  Ammons a new career-high in  assists (four). Another player making a difference was  Landen Griffith, who  had ten  points.
Spiro has  traveled a rocky road recently having  lost three of their last four games,  which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record  this season. As for Talihina, they have  been performing  well recently as they've  won six of their last eight matchups,  which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record  this season.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Spiro will face off against Arkoma at 7:30  p.m.  on Monday. Spiro is facing Arkoma at the right time seeing as Arkoma is stuck on  a  three-game losing streak. As for Talihina, they will take on Poteau in a tournament  on Friday.
