Football Recap: Holdrege Takes a Loss

Holdrege had lost seven straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 0-6 to make it eight. They were outmatched by the Broken Bow Indians and fell 47-3. The Dusters lost against the Indians in their previous head to head back in October of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 26-7 score last time.

As for Broken Bow, their win bumped their record up to 2-4. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Broken Bow was led to victory by Aidan Markham and Zachary Jackson. Markham rushed for 108 yards and one touchdown on only nine carries, while Jackson rushed for 54 yards and a pair of TDs on only six carries. What's more, Jackson racked up 90 passer rating, the most he's had since back in October of 2024.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Holdrege will face off against rival Gothenburg at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Broken Bow is set to take on their familiar foe Minden at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
